CrochetStep teaches you to crochet, step by step. We collect as little as we can. This policy covers the CrochetStep website and web app at crochetstep.com and the CrochetStep iPhone app.

Who is responsible

CrochetStep is operated by Viral Apps LLC (1309 Coffeen Avenue, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA). Online payments are received by Interactive Ecommerce LLC (1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 10801, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA). Privacy questions: support@crochetstep.com.

What we collect and why

• Your e-mail address, when you start a trial or subscribe: to send your receipt, a login link, the trial reminder 3 days before the first charge, and messages about your subscription.
• Payment: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep your subscription status and the last four digits Stripe shows us.
• App purchases on iPhone are handled by Apple. The app sends the App Store transaction to our server to check that your subscription is active.
• Your progress (projects, ticked-off steps, row counts, lessons you know) is stored on your device.
• Crochet helper: when you ask a question, the question and any photo you choose are sent through crochetstep.com and OpenRouter to Anthropic to write the answer, after you agree in the app. We do not keep them, and they are not used to train AI models.
• Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't show ads in the app. We don't use your data to build an advertising profile.

How long we keep it

We keep your e-mail and subscription records while you are a customer and for as long as tax and accounting law requires afterwards. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can say no to e-mails other than receipts and account messages (every e-mail has an unsubscribe link). Write to support@crochetstep.com. If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have these rights under that law too.

Children

CrochetStep is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date above and, for important changes, tell you by e-mail.
